You two + are doing so great!
I am happy on multiple levels,
    1. You are creating a fantastic USA made company.
    2. Your concept is exactly the shot in the arm the yarn industry needs.
    3. Excited to see the growth that is happening right before my eyes!
    … And many more..
Just an idea, how about adding bamboo for that 10%?
    Keep up the great work!

      Thanks Cyndi!

We’ve considered bamboo, but there are a few issues.

      1. We’d have to fine a place to source bamboo in the US
      2. Bamboo fibers use some pretty heavy chemical processing
      3. Bamboo tends to have a sheen to it that we’re not really looking for

But we’re not ruling it out.

    Keep up the good work.

I like the sound of drapey and soft. I’m visualizing a sweater with simple lines already! Keep at it!

This is awesome – I lived in So. Cal. for 10 years and started knitting there but only found wool or alpaca, etc…. I love this whole concept and I can’t WAIT to get my mini skeins – I promise to send pics of whatever I make!! Just throwing it out there – I LOVE the sheen of bamboo, just in case you ever think about making another line of yarn with some sheen 🙂 And I also love the chain ply and would absolutely donate to the cause if you ever decide to do a crowdfunding thing to get the right machines. 🙂 I’m thrilled to be a part of this venture and I can’t wait to start buying!!!!! 😀

I can’t wait to knit a sweater with a new type of yarn. It sounds like you’re putting a lot of thought into it, about the type of yarn and the
people who will be using it. I wish you all the best!

Happy you’re aiming for a wool and cotton blend. I’m in Maryland where it can be cold in the winter, but also very warm and humid much of the spring, summer and fall. 100 % wool is usually too warm for me to wear much of the year. Some of the all cottons aren’t very smooth and fluffy, however, so the mix sounds very promising. I also learned more about chain ply from your text. Very interesting!

Love your concept and can’t wait to see the new yarn line. Congratulations for the focus on American made with American fibers.

You have chosen beautiful colors. I believe if you can eventually expand the color line a’la’ Red Heart, Caron Simply Soft, or Scheepjeswol Softfun you will not only have a winner but a smash hit.

Most important for me is the availability of several shades of a color such as light pink, med. pink ,dk pink, and rose OR pale yellow, med yellow, deep yellow, gold. Your initial color palette is beautiful. Once established I hope you will consider adding a lighter and deeper shade of a few colors.

Best of luck to you. I am thrilled that you have easily met your early goals.

      Thanks so much Ruth!

We hope to expand our color line to 32 colors eventually, but our color choices will be dictated by trends that we find from our research in the fashion world.

I’m excited because my sister has cancer and I make chemo hats and I think the wool will be warm but not to hot. The cotton can breath and be soft and fluffy. My 6 yr old G-son also had cancer. He is as of April 15, 2015 cancer free for 5 yrs now, after 4 yrs of treatment. I just think hats, hats, hats with this yarn! I don’t know why, a sweater yes, but for me hats. Lol I guess because of all the cancer hats I’ve made for so many. I’m always looking for better yarns that work for differant people with cancer. Pls keep me posted. TY

I was always impressed with both Johnny and Lacie’s passion for knitting and the opportunity of learning from their tutorials on a regular basis. I do not take sponsoring a company lightly and I am both very proud and very excited to be involved in this new adventure with Johnny, Lacie and the NewStich a Day staff. Although I am a Canadian and our winters can be extremely harsh I completely support and am very excited for there new wool line of wool, cotton and linen. I wish you all the best and thank you for keeping all of us involved in the entire process from the ground up. I look forward to your next chat about the progress of finding a suitable wollen mill. If there is anything I can do from a distance please just ask and I’ll be there….. Best regards, Cheri

I’m so happy you are making a wool/cotton/whatever blend. I happen to live in San Francisco and have trouble wearing an all wool sweater at almost any time of year. So the coolness of the blend is ideal for me.

I love your color palette as well.

You guys are doing great! I’m happy to be a part of your new adventure. Thanks for the updates.

I have been knitting and crocheting since 1964 (when I was 12), never giving a thought to how yarn is actually created. Your journey to produce your dream yarns has been informative and fun to read. I would like to see a video of all the steps from sheep and cotton plants to colorful skeins of yarn.

Being an “investor” in your new adventure is so exciting, and I love how your daily emails have over-flowed with enthusiasm and a vision for quality, beautiful yarn. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

I am really excited about this campaign. Just wanted to put in a word for beech fiber, if you’re still looking for that “something extra.” One of my current favorite yarns is a “modal” blend that used beech fiber. It is a lot like working with bamboo (which, as you have noted would be difficult to source in the US), but more durable and without that tendency to get droopy with wear. Best of luck on your quest!

hadn’t heard of that, but will have to check it out.

** On further research Modal seems to be made by an Austrian company, so we’ll have to see if anyone is doing it in the US.

Hello! I’m sure you know Southwest Trading Co (swtcyarn.com) imports bambpp as well as Soy yarns. I know you have shown their yarn, so.I’m going to suggest you contact them too

We’re looking to source yarns from within the US. Since theirs are imported that would not really qualify.

I’m so excited about your projects and the yarn you are working to creat. Don’t Missouri we have the four season temperatures, we just seem to be going through them weekly instead of monthly. Your type of yarn seems like it will be a perfect fit. Can hardly wait 🙂

I’s so excited about this adventure. I love the blend you are talking abut. Living in Texas I use a lot of cotton blends but rarely a cotton wool blend. Look forward to touching, feeling and using this yarn.

I love this yarn-trepreneur adventure you’re on, and keeping us updated on your progress. Next time I’m up in Ft. Collins I’ll go check out My Sister Knits. Since it can be pretty hot (to me) here in Denver in summer and part of autumn, I’m excited about your yarn! I love and thank you for ALL of your videos. They have a very personal feel about them. Beautiful daughter, by the way. So precious! Peace, and take care. Looking forward to the next update.

I live in North Central Texas and am very excited about this warm-weather yarn blend. I believe the weight and content would also be well suited to layering. I love knitting with linen so the blend you’re considering is very appealing to me.

My best friend lives in Loveland CO….I see a trip to My Sister Knit’s in my future?

Looking forward to your continued research.

I live in the southeast region of Texas and can’t wait to see what you come with up for us. We rarely wear socks, (maybe five months each year), certainly no mittens or leg warmers, and scarves are a rarity. (The colors also have a tendency to bleed due to the humidity no matter how much we try to set the color). That leaves us with shells, lightweight shawls or maybe a throw, with the occasional cotton cardigan for our sort-of chilly winters.

If we really crank down the air conditioning we can wear everything at once!

So excited to be on this journey with you!

I’m so glad the chain-ply idea went kafoot! I don’t like the way it feels going thru my fingers at all nor the way it looks. Love the woolen mill approach. Forge ahead!

I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful yarn adventure! I would like to know which breed of sheep you are considering sourcing your wool from? Each breed has special qualities that could add to what your finished product will have. I enjoy your updates and all the educational info about fiber. Keep up the great work and can’t wait for the yarn to be released.?
